These nine drinks use ordinary food ingredients for flavor. Some follow published formulas and others are measured culinary adaptations. They are not treatments for fatigue, sleep problems, infection or immune deficiency. Quantities refer to US cups, tablespoons and teaspoons unless millilitres or grams are stated.

- 20 g fresh ginger root, washed, peeled and grated
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 250 ml refrigerated unsweetened almond milk

- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Press grated roots with honey in a bowl. Warm almond milk in a small pan over medium-low heat until small bubbles appear at the edges; lower heat.
- Mix 2 tablespoons of that warm milk into the root mixture, then return the mixture to the pan. Stir over medium-low heat until blended and steaming; grated solids remain.
- Pour into a heat-safe mug and add the ground turmeric and cinnamon. Let cool enough to sip; do not put hot liquid in a sealed blender.
Yield: 1 large mug; 250 ml milk plus honey, roots and spices. Time: 15 minutes.
Method comparison: Allrecipes Golden Milk by Buckwheat Queen . This is the stronger house version; its weighed roots and ground-spice amounts differ from that source. It will have grated texture.

- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 washed lemon wedge

Yield: 4 portions; about 2 cups total. Time: about 5 minutes including heating.
This house lemon-honey-cayenne mixture shares citrus, sweetener and culinary spice with Desiree Nielsen ginger turmeric tonic ; it does not reproduce that ginger -turmeric formula. Omit cayenne for a plain lemon-honey drink; no energy or immunity promise is made.
4. Peppermint Tea
- 1 cup water, plus extra to warm the teapot
- 2 teaspoons plain peppermint loose tea or 1 single-cup sachet
- Heat water to about 208 F (98 C). Warm the pot with extra hot water and discard that water.
- Cover tea with the measured 1 cup hot water; steep 5 minutes, strain and serve warm.
Yield: 1 cup-sized serving; minor leaf absorption. Time: 7 minutes.
Formula basis: Jee Choe peppermint tea . Optional honey is 1 teaspoon per cup after brewing. For a measured iced version use 4 teaspoons leaves in 1/2 cup hot water for 5 minutes, strain, then add cold potable water to make 1 cup and refrigerate until cold before adding ice. This stronger house iced brew is not a promise that a particular ice melt equals the hot formula; allow cooling time.

5. Honey Lemon Tea
- 2 cups water
- 2 teaspoons honey
- juice of 2 washed lemons, measured after juicing
- Heat water in a pan until steaming. Divide honey and lemon juice equally between 2 mugs.

This is a house honey-lemon drink using the hot-water, citrus and sweetener approach in Cookie and Kate fresh ginger tea , with more lemon and no ginger. Lemon sizes vary; record the recovered juice if repeating the flavor. It is not a throat or illness treatment.

Formula basis: Cookie and Kate fresh turmeric tea . For a milky variation replace 1/4 cup water with 1/4 cup refrigerated milk, adding it after straining and warming gently. Optional black pepper is a small pinch for flavor; no absorption claim is established.

Formula basis: Cookie and Kate fresh ginger tea .
9. Golden Turmeric Tonic
- 3-inch piece washed fresh ginger, peeled
- 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 1/4 cup potable water
- 1 tablespoon culinary ground turmeric
- Blend all ingredients cold in a small blender for about 45 seconds until ginger breaks down. A large blender may need a doubled batch to cover its blades; double every ingredient.
- Strain through a clean sieve over a measuring jug if desired. Measure the recovered concentrate; yield varies with ginger and straining.
- For one drink, stir 2 tablespoons concentrate into 6 fluid ounces cold or comfortably warm water; or use chilled sparkling water, stirring gently. Refrigerate the covered rest promptly and use within 24 hours.
Yield: variable concentrate recovery, roughly 3/4-1 cup; portion by measuring; 1 diluted drink about 7 fluid ounces. Time: 5 minutes.
Culinary basis: Desiree Nielsen ginger turmeric tonic . Its source also offers 1/4 cup undiluted as a sharp small portion. If choosing that original style, measure 1/4 cup and serve fresh; it is a serving option, not a daily dose. For frozen concentrate, portion 2 tablespoons into each freezer-safe cavity and freeze at 0 F until solid (about 4-6 hours), bag, label and use within 2 weeks for quality; melt one portion into 6 oz water and serve immediately.
Handling these drinks
Refrigerate fresh bases and cut fruit promptly at 40 F (4 C) or below and use within 24 hours, a conservative house limit rather than a tested shelf life. Cool hot bases in shallow heat-safe containers or an ice-water bath, then refrigerate; do not wait for a large pitcher to reach room temperature on the counter. Keep cold servings on ice. Discard perishables after 2 hours without temperature control, or 1 hour above 90 F (32 C). Keep purchased milk, juice and syrup according to their labels, using the shorter limit. Wash produce under running water before cutting; discard rotten fruit.
